We are looking for a manager for our System 2 470 cow farm. There is also work available for a partner - either relief milking or calf rearing or possibly a full time position. We are 20 minutes from Otorohanga and 25 minutes from Te Awamutu.

There are two rural schools nearby to choose from. We are looking for someone who; - has genuine empathy for cows and calves - has good stock sense - can clearly communicate with, and lead a team - can accurately calculate round length, pasture cover and break sizes - can confidently and safely ride a two wheeler - can confidently and safely drive a tractor with a wagon - is proactive when it comes to farm maintenance - can diagnose and treat animal health issues in a timely manner There is a three bedroom house that comes with the role and a double lock up garage and an outside storage room. We run a 6 on 2 off roster during calving and an 8 on 2 off roster from mating onwards.

This is negotiable depending on the candidate's family situation and preference. We are grass based and supplement with maize and grass silage. We aim to farm simply and sustainably and typically milk our cows once a day from January onwards.
